We are always in need of dedicated volunteers. Are you interested in becoming a volunteer? If yes, complete the Volunteer Application and bring it to our office.
To keep our shelter running smoothly it takes an entire team of motivated and dedicated volunteers. At the shelter we have a morning shift, an evening shift (every day of the week, 365 days a year) plus the office is open Monday - Friday, and ½ day on Saturday for adoptions.
Office Staff
Monday - Saturday the volunteer assists customers with viewing the pets, applying for adoptions, and volunteering. The volunteer answers the phone, takes messages, files, copies records, and creates adoption folders. Office staff also clean the office area and assist with the laundry. Featured Here: Lady |
Dog Caretakers
Both morning and evening shifts the volunteers take each dog for a walk to provide a good stretch, fresh air, and exercise. The volunteers also groom, administer medication, feed, clean kennels, train, and socialize with the dogs. Featured Here: Kovu |
Cat Caretakers
Both morning and evening shifts the volunteers clean the cat room (scoop litter boxes, sweep & mop cages, etc), fluff bedding, attend the food and water stations, launder bedding, groom, administer medication, and love the cats. Featured Here: Star (special needs) |
Foster A Pet
Do you have room in your heart and home to care for one or more orphans until a loving family adopts the animal? Pet Welfare pays for all medical care, supplies, and food. You supply the love, care, nurturing and time. Find out more >>Featured Here: Tally |
Other Ways to Help
If you don't think that you can help in one of the areas mentioned above, there are still lots of other things that you can do for us. Public relations, marketing, fundraising, graphic design, computer skills, vet runs, and facilities maintenance are all needed. We can use your talents and skills!

Grant writing is a fantastic talent we are in short supply of here at Pet Welfare. If you are able to help with writing grants, please contact us, we want to hear from you!
Sponsor A Pet
Pet Welfare and The Petfinder.com Foundation offer a program that allows you to sponsor a homeless pet that has touched your heart, but which, for some reason, you can't adopt at this time.
**Consider sponsoring one of our older or special needs dogs/cats whose chances of finding a home are harder**
