Volunteers

A huge THANK YOU to all of our Pet Welfare volunteers for your commitment, dedication, hard work and recognition of how important it is for us to be there to support each other! It is your steadfast dedication to our mission and your compassion for our animals that has made Pet Welfare so successful for the past 25+ years!

Please keep up the excellent support!

We are always in need of dedicated volunteers.

Are you interested in becoming a volunteer?

If yes, complete the Volunteer Application and bring it to our office.

To keep our shelter running smoothly it takes an entire team of motivated and dedicated volunteers. At the shelter we have a morning shift, an evening shift (every day of the week, 365 days a year) plus the office is open Monday - Friday, and ½ day on Saturday for adoptions.

Office Staff
Monday - Saturday the volunteer assists customers with viewing the pets, applying for adoptions, and volunteering.  The volunteer answers the phone, takes messages, files, copies records, and creates adoption folders. Office staff also clean the office area and assist with the laundry.

Dog Walkers
Both morning and evening shifts the volunteers take each dog for a walk to provide a good stretch, fresh air,  and exercise. The volunteers also groom, administer medication, feed, clean kennels, train, and socialize with the dogs.

Cat Cuddlers
Both morning and evening shifts the volunteers clean the cat room (scoop litter boxes, sweep & mop cages, etc), fluff bedding, attend the food and water stations, launder bedding, groom, administer medication, and love the cats.

Foster Care Opportunities
Do you have room in your heart and home to care for one or more orphans until a loving family adopts the animal? This is a BIG commitment. Foster animals require 24/7 attention the same as any pet. Pet Welfare pays for all medical care, supplies, and food. You supply the love, care, nurturing and TIME. Yes, it is a big commitment, but the rewards are priceless and the memories are forever! Interested, contact the cat or dog coordinator on the contact page to discuss foster parenting.

Other Ways to Help
If you don't think that you can help in one of the areas mentioned above, there are still lots of other things that you can do for us. Public relations, marketing, fundraising, graphic design, computer skills, vet runs, and facilities maintenance are all needed. We can use your talents and skills.
