Adoption Success Stories

Pet Welfare has had a long history of successfully finding homes for surrendered and abandoned animals. Here are a few stories from people who have given a loving home to a homeless animal from Pet Welfare:

Featured Story: Cap, Holly, and Bear

My parents adopted a special needs dog "Trystan" (now "Bear") in 2008. He and another dog "Aussie" were rescued from PAWS with a terrible case of mange and neither one had any hair. No one thought they would make it. My family helped me walk dogs on Christmas morning since I was alone on my shift (they had to if they wanted to open presents! ; ) and we all loved "Bear". My folks came to visit after that and my mom visited Pet Welfare and immediately felt a connection and convinced my dad that "Bear" needed to move to their beautiful property in Alachua, Florida. He has had a wonderful life there ever since with my sister's family close by also. Jen

Christina, Aaron, & Jasmine

Christina began volunteering at Pet Welfare in January 2011, and it didn't take long for 7-year-old kitty Jasmine to win her heart.

Tierra and Andy

A volunteer at Pet Welfare, Tierra fell in love with one of our special needs dogs, Andy, who is deaf.
