Pet Welfare is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, no-kill animal shelter located on Eglin Air Force Base in Northwest Florida. The shelter places nearly 300 abandoned, stray, and homeless cats and dogs every year.
Listen to our Chairman, Jen Chapman, speaking about Bear on Pet Life Radio.
Pet Welfare has been in operation since 1982 where we were once just giving the cats and dogs away because there were so many and we were just happy to find a home for all the strays. Still to this day Pet Welfare is a no-kill facility open to the public trying to aid the military when they have to leave their pets behind.
In 2002, after 6 years of hard fundraising, Pet Welfare celebrated the grand opening of a new facility. We are always in need of volunteers and foster homes and depend solely on donations and grants. Everyday we love and care for animals in need and on those days when we feel we’re the only ones caring or can barely think straight because we’re so tired, we pick ourselves up and look around and remember what we do it for...the animals that need us.
♥♥♥HAPPY NEW YEAR AND 30TH ANNIVERSARY♥♥♥
A warm thank you to each of you for your generous donations of much needed supplies, cash and also your valuable time during all of 2011. All of our fabulous volunteers are appreciated more than they will ever know. Freezing cold, sticky heat and humidity, monstrous thunderstorms, they toil in all weather and conditions. Why? For the love of the animals. Without donations from all of our wonderful supporters, we would have to close our doors and homes could not be found for hundreds of homeless cats and dogs each year. From the bottoms of our hearts, all of us at Pet Welfare thank each of you who help us keep our doors open. Purrs and wags from our four-legged charges!
Warmly, Jen Chapman, Chairman
